Huge news on the Syracuse basketball front - the Midnight Madness event the University will be hosting to kick off the season on Friday October 19 will have a very special guest as the Master of Ceremonies - the man, the myth, the legend - a universal favorite of idiots everywhere, and especially T3I - Bill Rafferty.
In a world filled with incompetent morons who specialize in talking over game action and having no idea what two teams are actually playing (this would be you nameless ESPN regional announcers) or famous national talking heads who spend 2 hours tossing verbal bouquets to Coach K and Duke (see Vitale, Dick and Patrick, Mike) Raff is a breath of fresh air.
The three person team with Jay Bilas, Sean McDonough and Bill Rafferty is a thing of beauty - if your team is playing and those three guys are calling it, you're in for a good time - unless Tim Higgins is the ref, but that's another discussion for another time.
So congratulations to the University on a job well done - they have ONIONS for bringing someone as entertaining as Raf - and let's be honest, basketball season can't get here soon enough.
