Upon Further Review - Greg Robinson, the Jerk Store Called

Champ has summed up my thoughts on Greg Robinson and the performance of the Syracuse football team below, but I have just two quick things to add:

1) "But we're going to be good. I liked what I saw today and we have something to build on," Greg Robinson.

His team loses 55-14 and he says that. This sums up why he's a terrible football coach. Do you think Jim Leavitt would say something like this? Of course not - a coach that likes what he saw after losing by 41 points is sending a message to his team that it's OK to fail as long as you try. That's great for Junior High, but this is major college football - or it was major college football until this bum showed up. Pathetic.

2) The fake field goal. I don't have an issue with trying to shake things up - sometimes you have to take risks, especially when things are as bad as they are now. What I have an issue with is how RETARDED the plan was. SU's kicker is a planet with legs - the kid is fat. Obviously he's not running anywhere - so when the field goal team in on the field and he's NOT LINED UP TO KICK - it's fairly obvious something is up. To make matters worse, according to the Post Standard, WVA had sniffed out the play (because you know, our kicker wasn't lined up to kick it - something I noticed immediately from the 300 level) and the SU sideline told them to run it anyway!

The incompetence knows no bounds - Orange 44 breaks it down here, and cue the crying child. As Nunes/Magician said - maybe the 1987 team should have played.
