The Fall Guy

As I'm sure you've heard, Brian White has been fired as the Syracuse University offensive coordinator. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing remains to be seen, but he's the first one to take the fall after the debacle that was the 2007 Syracuse Orange football season.

At this point, everyone who reads this blog knows we all believe Robinson can't get the job done, so shaking up the staff now has the appearance of rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. The 2008 season will begin with the 3rd offensive coordinator in 4 years of the Robinson regime. I'm not crying any crocodile tears for White, at this point shaking things up can't hurt, it's not like the offense (or defense for that matter) can get any worse.

Two things to watch here:

1) It will be interesting to see who he can lure to Syracuse for what very well could be a one year gig - getting someone who has established himself will be very difficult under those circumstances, the college football world knows 2008 could be it for G-Rob

2) Does the vaunted "west coast offense" stay - or does Robinson try and move towards something that has had more success in college?

I don't know - I'm guessing he doesn't know - so stay tuned.
