Torn ACL's, stunning defensive lapses, tons of points, a road win against an ACC team, a key defection, some amazing plays by freshman and a wacky hair cut by a guy from Belgium were just a few of the stories that marked the non-conference portion of the Syracuse Orange men's basketball season. Tonight the real fun begins, as SU kicks off its Big East season by taking on St. John's in snowy Central New York.
Here's everything you need to know:
* Mike Waters preview story is here.
* CuseAdelphia has an excellent preview piece up and for a round up of all other Big East related links, they already beat us to it - there's no sense in reinventing the wheel - just click here.* Len Robbins of the NY Post thinks the Orange will be tough to swallow (I'm resisting the urge to make an oral sex joke here)
* The NY Daily News focuses on whether or not the Dome public address announcer will get Norm Roberts' name correct.
* And Troy Nunes is an Absolute Magician wonders what will be Gary Walters' excuse this year?
Obviously this is a team that the Orange should beat, if they are going to make the NCAA tournament this year games like this are vital. As I look into my crystal ball, I see a slow, sloppy game with the Cuse prevailing 71-59.
