At least Boston didn't get him.

Johan to the Mets, done deal. New York does in Boston.

Sure I'm bummed he didn't land in the Bronx. But the fact that he didn't end up in Boston is a "win" in my opinion. Toss in the fact that the Yanks didn't mortgage the future makes me feel even better about this whole fiasco.

Since I watch approximately zero National League games a year, someone keep me posted on how Johan makes out.

Boston loses out to New York......something just seems so right about that.

Go Yanks.

I LOVE that Cash and Hal were able to talk King Hank out of mortgaging the future for Santana. Joba, Hughes, Wang, and Kennedy will make for a very strong staff for years to come. Plus with Brackman, Humberto Sanchez and Ethan Horne on the horizon it makes no sense to break that up for another almost-thirty something who showed decline down the stretch.

I would hate to think of how much money Santana's agent would have milked out of the Yanks with such bargaining power.

I agree 100% AJV. I think Hughes is the real deal and JOBA absolutely is the real deal. Santana's amazing, but that's a lot to give up for guy, who could snap a ligament at any time.
