5 Years Later, This Time I'm Rooting for Kansas

What a difference 5 years makes. On this day in 2003, I watched the Orange win the NCAA title at the Hill Street Cafe in Albany. It was also my sister's birthday so we had been celebrating well before the game even tipped off. After the final buzzer sounded, I picked up our waitress and twirled her around the room, oddly enough a few hours later our group was actually asked to leave the bar......go figure. Anyway, after a little sabbatical I eventually made a return to the Hill Street, they have great bar food and a special place in my heart.

Flash forward five years, here I am, joined by two fellow idiots writing inane thoughts that are spread around the world to literally hundreds on the interwebs (yes, I said hundreds, T3I haven't quite reached Deadspin status) - and a lot has changed. Namely, tonight I'm rooting for Kansas.

Why you ask? It's simple, if the Jayhawks win, I win the pool I'm in - all told, we're looking at almost 500 "points." The lesson - gambling makes everything better - besides, I need some cash so I can repaint my room - my nightlight is on the way. Go Jayhawks.
