Here's what you missed in the NBA last night - not much.
Detroit - Philadelphia
The Pistons came into Philadelphia and punched the Sixers in the face, beating them 100-77 to close out the series, winning 4 games to 2. This one wasn't close, Detroit lead 30-12 after one period. Philly was up by 10 at halftime of game game 4, and from there the wheels came off the bus. The Pistons proved they are the better team and overwhelmed a young Sixers team from that point on. Detroit Coach Flip Saunders called the series a wake up call, and they'll need to be awake to handle Dwight Howard and Orlando. The series will be another match up of youth versus experience - the only difference is Orlando's youth is more talented than Philadelphia's right now.
Even with the disappointing ending, overall Philadelphia's season has to be termed a success. No one expected them to make the playoffs, even in the weak Eastern Conference. They have a young talented nucleus and some great building blocks for the future. Hopefully they can go out and find a power forward and another shooter and see what happens next year.
