Marriage is all about sacrifices. With ChampBaby dropped off at Grandma and Grandpa's, Friday night I took ChampWife out for dinner at Pastabilities and a movie.Of course there was only one movie any woman wanted to see this weekend, Sex and The City. I was going in blind on this one. I have a really limited working knowledge of the story as I never watched the TV show. But as all of us in relationships know, sometimes you have to take one for the team.
Let me set the stage for you however. The theater was overun by large groups of women going out together to watch this movie. We're talking groups of at least 7 or 8. And let's just say this....we're talking lots of 40 and 50 yo's that had obviously downed a few cosmos before venturing in. ChampWife warned me ahead of time that women would be going out in groups, dressing up in Sex And The City inspired evening-wear. Lots of leopard print, makeup and perfume were easily found.
Now don't get me wrong, I get fired up for a big movie like the next person. But the cougars were dressed up in their "Sex" inspired outfits are in the same boat as the guys who wear their Bobba Fett and Stormtrooper costumes to Star Wars movies.
The theater was packed even for a 10:00 showing. Honestly there were probably 5 men in the entire theater.
As for the movie.....I thought it ran really long. Of course not knowing what was going on at anytime will do that to a guy.
ChampWife, she enjoyed it.
NY Post columnist Andrea Peyser, apparently not.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to dust off my Indiana Jones costume.

Going to that movie is not even debatable in the Russianator house - you've got to take a stand champ!
I am not sure what to think about this one. Is Champ going to be taking Spinning classes at Bally's now?
You should have came straight home and watched Porky's to detox.
