The Express, the movie about Syracuse great Ernie Davis will get its long rumored, but never confirmed premier in Syracuse after all - and you can be a part of it, for the low, low price of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
The premier will be held at the Landmark Theatre on Friday September 12 at 7:30 pm - that's the night before the Penn State game for those of you keeping score at home. Tickets for the event are priced at a grand and include a ticket to the movie and a gala that's being held afterward. According to SU Athletics, "net proceeds" will go to the Ernie Davis Fund - and something tells me there won't be a press release issued later detailing what the net proceeds eventually ended up being.
The film is scheduled to open nationally on October 3rd, and sarcasm aside, it's great that they were able to work out the details and get this premier in the place where it belongs. Let's be honest, opening this one at Grauman's Chinese Theatre would have felt a little odd.

Question is , will someone dress up like Ernie and stand outside Graumann's to pose for photos?
To go with the theme of the 50's, should I go as a white racist and protest that a film is being shown with a "colored" lead?
Okay, that was bad
