#14: Walter Reyes

Photo: Frank Ordonez, Post-Standard

Walter Reyes ('01-'04) lands on the #14 spot of the Top 20 Orangemen of the HumpIdiot Era with a total of 31 HumpIdiot Points. A five TD effort vs. Notre Dame in 2003 was perhaps his finest day on the hill.

Boss, "Battled for every yard...had no passing attack to help him out."

Russianator, "Second in all-time yards, first in TD's and he split carries with Damien Rhodes. I'm still not sure why he never panned out in the pros."

Champ, "Took a beating...great nose for the end zone. Senior year plagued by GRob-itis."

The Complete List:
14. Walter Reyes (31)
15. Qadry Ismail (23)
16. Robert Drummond (21)
17. Scott Schwedes (20)
18. Tie: Art Monk and Chris Gedney (17)
20. Kevin Mitchell (13)

Others receiving votes: James Mungro (12), Michael Owens (11), Damien Rhodes (11), Shelby Hill (10), Rob Konrad (9), Quinton Spotwood (9), Kevin Abrams (7), Kirby Dar Dar (6), Ted Gregory (5), Glen Young (3), Markus Paul (2), David Walker (2), Todd Philcox (1), Adam Terry (1)

I played with Walter in high school (Struthers, Oh)He was very talented and as he got into college he worked very hard. I don't know why he never panned out in the pro's (maybe his shoulder) but I know he can play. Underapreciated throughout his career.

He was a great Running back on the Cuse team! he should have went to the pros his junior year before he got hurt! He played his heart out in every game, it sucks that he didn't make it in the pros. He will always be a Legend in Syracuse!
