Friday Reading

Football is back and that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. For some people, acts of charity and human kindness make them feel better about themselves and the world, for me, it's watching men I've never met try and kill each other. To each his own.

The Giants beat the Redskins 16-7 last night, and if you didn't watch the game, Jim Zorn prowled the sidelines with his Greg Robinson face on the whole night. The skins offense was terrible, it reminded me of a typical SU game. Guess what Redskin fans, you people are in a for a loooooong season.

And speaking of a terrible offense (easiest. segue. ever.) the Syracuse passing game still needs work. Click here to see Donte Davis talk about it.

The team saw The Express last night, Donnie Webb says the team was awed by the story. The article also mentions how Greg Robinson got choked up speaking about it. Guess what coach, I get choked up every time I watch your team - and that's not a good thing. More $44 tickets to the premier go on sale Monday.

The Axeman is worried about Akron. No Axe, we don't blame you, we're right there with you my friend.

Dave Rahme says the Orange and Zips were mirror images in week one. That Greg Robinson coaching tree is pretty special.

Daryl Gross talks on a cell phone and somehow this is interesting to people. If he ever sends a text message, look out!

Prop bets for this weekend include announcers mentioning Greg Robinson's accomplishments. The author of that post also writes a very good West Virginia blog called Mountainlair and this pants party post looks at their game against Skip Holtz and ECU this weekend.

There are rumors swirling on message boards and blogs about who will play quarterback for the SU on Sunday. I've heard Dantley may get a look, but only time will tell. For what its worth, Andrew says he's ready to play.

SU Punter Rob Long's alter-ego googles himself. Let's be honest, we've all done it.

Orange 44 has some quick predictions on the Akron game.

Ben Mauck, still fighting to stay in college forever.

Here's a must read story for every SU fan out there.

In baseball news, the Yankees proved why they aren't going to the playoffs last night, while the Mets keep rolling along.

Penn State has more player behavior issues. This never would have happened if Joe Paterno was still alive.

Eli Manning is taking raincoats to a whole new level.

The Redskins may suck, but their cheerleaders do not.

And I'll leave you with the least shocking news ever, Lynne Spears, mother of the century.
