I Got Next: Week 1

We at T31 like to get a jump on things. In doing so we are introducing a new feature "I Got Next" where we bring you weekly updates of potential head coaching candidates for the Orangemen in the 2009 campaign. It may be a bit early, but after PuntGate, I can take no more.

After scouring the internet (which is always reliable) T3I Headhunters have developed a short list of three candidates based upon message board gossip and rumors. Without further fanfare, here's Week 1's update:

Mike Locksley, Offensive Coordinator, Illinois:

Looks good in orange and blue, eh? The Illini fell to rival Missouri 53-42. But think about that Cuse fans....42 points in defeat. It may be October until we've scored 42 points for the year.

Juice Williams threw for 452 yards and 5 TD's in the loss while his team rattled off 532 yards of total offense.

Turner Gill, Head Coach, Buffalo:

The UB Bulls racked up 484 yards of total offense in their 42-17 win over UTEP. After the game, Miners head coach Mike Price slipped across the border to enjoy the Canadian Ballet. Buffalo QB Drew Willy threw for 221 yards and 4 TD's.

Honestly Cuse fans, did you ever think you'd be looking down the NYS Thruway for your next head coach?

Al Golden, Head Coach, Temple

Ok, we're looking towards Buffalo and Temple for our saviors? It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it.

Al's Owls put up 35 points on the Army Black Knights as they accounted for 250 yards of total offense. Special teams accounted for a TD as Jamal Schulters returned a kickoff 98 yards for a score.

We'll keep the updates coming and will be glad to add more names as the rumor mill heats up.

What about Skip Holtz at ECU who I think will be a hot commodity this offseason.

Good call, Holtz will be a hot commodity, I am FIRMLY in the Turner Gill camp right now.

I wrote about Skip Holtz before the season. He is going to make it big, into a BCS conference and he isn't making a lot of money with ECU.
