Thursday Reading

We're one day closer to the next trainwreck that is SU football, and the NFL season kicks off tonight, so let's see what's happening today.

The hallmark of the Greg Robinson era is Greg "not knowing" so it's no surprise that he still doesn't know who will be starting running back this week. The team is actually OK with any of the three starting. What I can't wait for is when Averin Collier gets on the field for 3 carries in week 9 and loses his redshirt year - that will be fun.

Dan Conley, back where he belongs, in Orange.

Figures lie and liars figure - or sometimes stats back up what our own eyes tell us - that Syracuse has been terrible since Greggo showed up.

Akron is trying to switch some things up this week.

The AP says the Orange have to regroup after their season opening loss - there's been a lot of regrouping over the past 4 years.

Robinson is walking the plank and the Orange Squeeze has a list of guys who could lose their jobs this year.

The Yankees won again and it was fitting that instant replay got it's first use on an Alex Rodriguez home run. Looks like a case of too little too late for the Bronx Bombers.

Meanwhile, the Mets swept the Brewers and are still in first place.

Another prestigious award for Goose Gossage.

Terrance Newman, not a fan of roller coasters.

The Giants and Redskins get the NFL season started tonight.

Here's Kissing Suzy Kolber's unique view of the season.

The ACC - not quite the college football giant is was supposed to be.

And I'll conclude with some advice for Darrell Arthur and and Mario Chalmers - in the words of Ben Stern, I told you not to be stupid you morons.
