Two weeks into the NFL season and already Scott Linehan and Lane Kiffin could get fired, everyone knows Greg Robinson's job situation......so hey, at least your job is safe, and if it's not I'd suggest getting off this site and start doing some actual work. Let's get to the links.
We will start with a bevy of news yesterday about Greg, Lane Kiffin, Jim Brown. Loyal reader Brown points out that Sports by Brooks is asking if SU is interested in Lane Kiffin.
Jim Brown, a man who knows a thing or two about excellence, correctly sums up the state of the Syracuse football team as terrible - of course to Greg, terrible means people support him.
The speculation over who will replace Robinson is rampant - ESPN blogger Brian Bennett ponders possibilities here.
In on the field news, Cameron Dantley will start against Northeastern, so at least they've decided to avoid a quarterback controversy - which is nice. Dantley obviously is pleased.
The Post Standard audio slide shows are getting a bit creepy......screw that, they're really creepy, if you see Dave Rahme lurking around your house, call the cops.
Guess what - recruiting sucks - can't say I'm surprised there.
Anyone read about the Ernie Davis statue that is covered in Nike swooshes? Well that's going to be fixed.
Rob Long is not a man to be messed with - number 4 in the country baby.
Syracuse is sliding down the all-time win list like a stripper slides down a pole.
The Utica OD says the game this weekend is a must, must win (the second "must" shows you how important it is). Who are they kidding? Must, must win was Akron - at this point nothing really matters in terms of the fate of the team and the coach.
You know things are bad when the Editor-in-Chief of the Central New York Business Journal is writing about firing the football coach.
Honestly, there are at least 50 more stories about how Greg Robinson and Syracuse suck out there - just google them if you want even more punishment - although I must mention, Greg is number one this week.
In good news, Brandon Triche has committed to play basketball for the Orange. A local product and the nephew of former Orangeman Howard Triche, he picked SU over UConn and Georgetown. Bud says we can smile again, and I eagerly await HoyaSuxa's take on this news.
Notes from the Big East Conference coaches call.
In baseball news, the Mets are partying like it's 2007, dropping another game and falling into second place. Don't worry Met fans, With Leather has started a choke watch.
This one's for the guys, here's some Megan Fox news you need to read.
Mark Ingram - decent receiver - world class criminal.
And don't forget people, the latest OJ Trial is underway.
