Friday Reading

Another week is rapidly coming to a close and the good news is for Orange fans is that the 'cuse will not lose this weekend. On the field anyway, I don't even want to speculate as to what will happen with the police investigation that is currently under way. Let's get to some links.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Lane Kiffin is more likely to end up in Washington than Central New York. I think Lane and Jim Mora Jr. should arm wrestle over Ty Willingham's job.

The pros and cons of hiring Kiffin from Bleeding Orange.

Bob Matthews of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle says Kiffin to Syracuse is too good to be true. Let's calm down here - Nick Saban is too good to be true - the jury is still out on Kiffin.

Hats off the Orange Fizz for doing the math - Greg Robinson's conference winning percentage is worse than Andruw Jones batting average this year.

Not surprisingly, there's no vote of confidence coming from Gross in terms of Greggo's job.

Bud Poliquin admits he screwed up - I'll let you make your own joke here.

Here's an overly simplistic explanation of the downward spiral that is Syracuse football. The author says it's not all G-Rob's fault.

I'm going to pretend I didn't read this story - where the author says Bill Stewart would be a better fit at Syracuse.

In basketball news, Cuse Country continues their "get pumped" series - which is excellent. Gentlemen, I am getting more pumped than a Reebok sneaker from the late 80s.

Have you met Poncho Sinatra? You should (video embedded at the end of this post for our extra lazy readers.

In baseball news, the Cubs are throwing up all over themselves and people are blaming a curse. All I have to say to that is waaaaaaaaaaah - cubs fans, you're not cursed, you just need to make sure your players don't take the field wearing oven mitts.

Oh and go Phillies. The city of Philadelphia hasn't had a championship since 1983, those are people who deserve a championship. Well, actually since they boo everything, they don't deserve squat, but I'm rooting for the Phils anyway. OK, I'm rambling now.

This isn't a link, just a random thought - who is a bigger douchebag - Colin Cowherd or Skip Bayless? Honestly, the world would be a better place without both of them - discuss.

Helio Castroneves didn't pay his taxes - oops. The thing that kills me about this is that it isn't a Willie Nelson - I'm too stoned to notice my accountants didn't pay my taxes situation - this is a well thought out scheme with shell corporations and the whole nine yards. Let's see how well he dances in prison.

And I'll leave you today with this - Jesus is set to be the next SU coach.

I had a few Natty Lights watching the USF-Pitt game last night and thought, Country First, let me get the video camera out!

Oh, and The Big East is definitely hurting this year.

I gotta go with Bayless. I just typed up a long diatribe about him and deleted it because it was just exhausting to read. God I hate him.

I wouldn't argue if someone went with Cowherd. In fact, it would be great if both were holding hands in Fenway Park on top of one of Boston's lite brite bombs and it exploded and buried them in the rubble.

And throw Dustin Pedroia in there.

Cow-turn is the bigger douchebag, but by a slim marging ( 51% to 49% percent) his voice is my nails on chalkboard reqaction. When he guest hosts on mike and mike, i wish golic would have his kid get stupid drunk and them mow him down in the espn parking lot.
