Wherefore Art Thou Kevin Johnson?

I've been meaning to get to this for a couple of days, but on Saturday our good friends over at Hugging Harold Reynolds unearthed this piece on the where abouts of former Orange standout receiver Kevin Johnson.

Last week Johnson, who is only 32 and has been out of the NFL for the past three years, penned a letter to his hometown paper reflecting on one of his fondest football memories, playing in a high school rivalry game.

I wanted to learn more about what KJ is up to these days, but a name like "Kevin Johnson" turns up a lot of results on the good old Google search. Adding qualifiers like football and Syracuse turned up nothing. So while I have no idea what the former Orangeman is actually doing, this much I know:

- Former Phoenix Sun Kevin Johnson is the mayor-elect of Sacramento. He gets sworn in Tuesday.

- Kevin Johnson from Ludlow Massachusetts won a race with his brother the other day.

- Dr. Kevin Johnson from Vanderbilt is doing important health care research.

- And Wesley College basketball player Kevin Johnson rallied his team to victory the other night.

As far as what is going on with one of our favorite former Orangemen, other than writing to his hometown paper, we aren't really sure -- hopefully he's not working in a woman's shoe store and talking about the time he scored 4 TDs.....

I am surprised he hasn't weighed in on the coaching search by suggesting a random assistant or his high school position coach. It's only a matter of time until someone suggests George Deleone
