Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton squared off in Vegas last night and the outcome for Hatton wasn't quite what he expected. Not too get too technical, but in boxing terms he suffered what purists call an ass kicking.
If you're like most Americans, you didn't see the fight because years ago the geniuses that run boxing thought it would be a good idea to charge people substantial sums of money to see their product, thereby limiting their audience and destroying interest in the sport for a generation of kids who've moved on to MMA and other sports for their fix of sports-related brutality.

Guys, I love boxing and wrestling and don't order the pay per views eithr because of the costs. But just to let you know, HBO will have the card next weekend for free and there are places you can go to watch it for free, usually a sports bar or strip club.
Or the internet 20 minutes after it happened.
Russ, that is true and something I don't think these promoters and pay per view companies understand. Why pay $40 now for what I can see for free when it's over? I love boxing but it's crazy knowing ESPN will have highlights shortly afterward, video will be on the internet somewhere within an hour and within a week, HBO or someone will carry it free. May as well do all of them on network TV with some kind of deal in place to help compensate for what you would have made in buys.
