Last minute prediction

A new season and hopefully the start of a return to prominence begins in a few hours at the Dome, and while most of our readership will have long since switched over from beer to straight liquor by the time they read this...let the record show I'm optimistic about this season. OK , maybe not optimistic enough to wake up at 2am this morning and drive up to CNY for some tailgating and a roast under the big bubble on the hill, but optimistic enough to find 4 (maybe 5) wins on this season's schedule. A few things I'm focused on today:
  • Marrone's in-game feel and decisions...I love this guy's passion but I'm curious to see how conservative/aggressive his decisions are.
  • Defense...please show me some basic form tackling, the ability to take the proper angles, and capitalize on turnover opportunities...near interceptions aren't enough -- make the play.
  • Team speed...been a problem over the last few years, if its a problem today against Minnesota, then I may renege on the 4 wins this year.
Everything is ripe for a 'Cuse win and I don't think they'll deliver a Grob stinker, I'd rather it not come down to field goal...but it likely will.
Syracuse 27 Minnesota 26

Overall, I was very pleased by the performance of the "Orange" under the new regime. Major hat tip to the O-line and the defense. This club has potential.
