We Believe In: Rec Leagues

Continuing in our series of things we believe in: rec leagues.

All 3 idiots have spent plenty of time competing in a wide range of rec league sports including: softball, basketball, bowling, golf, darts, volleyball and kickball. Yes, you've correctly read that last one. I was part of an adult kickball dynasty, we were '98 Yankees-esque...and it was a blast.

We've all been there: remembering your umps fees, scrambling to find another girl to fill out your co-ed roster, and developing a rivalry with the team that's a little too full of themselves. However, the absolute best part of these things is the post-game rehydrating that takes place at a local watering hole. It's usually accompanied by a few rounds of Quick Draw while you are busting on your buddy for screwing up a play during the night's game.

You've got to stay hydrated people.

This past summer was the first season I didn't play in a coed softball league since my move to Saratoga. I was often known for my ability to slap singles opposite field to advance runners. That has all been forgotten and my legacy will live on via $4 pitcher nights at The Retreat in liverpool.

Poncho - I too am a slap hitter - I've got a team you can play on next year - we stink and we play in schenectady - but we can always use another weak hitting right fielder.

I'm down with playing Rush. One request, I wear my Steve Garvey Padres jersey that kiss imprints from all his lady friends.
