Syracuse - Louisville: Official Idiotic Predictions

As always, image via Hoya Suxa

The improved Louisville Cardinals travel to Syracuse to take on the 6-2 Syracuse Orange at noon on Saturday in the Big East game of the week. Last year these two teams put on a football exhibition that set football back 50 years. The Cardinals ultimately pulled out a 10-9 victory in a game that featured less offense than the Texas Rangers in the World Series. It was ugly. We're talking Rosie O'Donnell naked ugly. As Orange fans, we're looking for a better outcome this time around. Here are the predictions.

Champ

First off, if anybody who reads this blog (who are we kidding, no one does) hasn't gotten a ticket yet to to this game, get your lazy butt to the Dome on Saturday. Reports have ticket sales around the 35,000 mark, which is ridiculous.

Onto the game. We really long for the days of Robinson vs. Kragthorpe, but all good things come to an end.

The Cuse has this "winning ugly" thing down pretty well, and it continues this week.

Final

Syracuse - 21
Louisville - 13

Highlights:

- The Cuse "D" puts the "Loud" back in the "Loud House" as Doug Hogue and his boys continue their dominance.

- Big win for the white Subway sub

- Mr. Nassib sharpens things up

If you told me back in August that the November 6th matchup between Louisville and Syracuse would be a pivotal game for the Big East conference, I would have told you that you are a terrorist. Well, that's what we have here with the 6-2 Orange hosting the 4-4 Cardinals. It looks like the Cardinals will be without their two key offensive weapons, Bilal Powell and quarterback Adam Froman. The only way I see Louisville moving the ball on the Orange is with them bribing our guys with a dozen buckets of Kentucky Fried Chicken prior to the game. If that chicken doesn't make it into the Orange locker room before the game, look for a big win and a defensive swarm on the Cardinals.

Final

Syracuse - 27
Louisville - 10

Rush

As Champ noted, the Kragthorpe era at Louisville is over and in just one year the team is vastly improved. The reason is crystal clear -- Charlie Strong knows what he's doing. I've watched quite a few Cardinal games this year and I'm convinced the guy is already one of the best coaches in the league. Of course, this is the Big East, so that compliment is the equivalent of being the skinniest kid at fat camp, but it's true nonetheless.

As such, I have an important message for every school in the country with deep pockets who needs a coach - HIRE CHARLIE STRONG IMMEDIATELY. If he sticks around I have a feeling he will build a dominant program there in no time.

However. luckily for Orange fans, we have a tremendous coach leading our team in the form of Doug Marrone. Even though SU is thin, young on offense and beat up, he's notched road wins over South Florida, West Virginia and Cincinnati already this year....and I'm fully aware you already know that, but it's cool as hell to look at again.

In this particular matchup, Louisville is also battling injury problems, as star running back Bilal Powell and starting quarterback Adam Froman will not play. Powell will be replaced by Victor Anderson, who has battled health problems and Froman will be replaced by either Justin Burke or Will Stein. Turning Scott Shafer loose on a back up quarterback is like dangling raw meat in front of a tiger. If you don't believe me, ask Chazz Anderson how things worked out for him last week.

Syracuse is limited offensively and will be without starting right tackle Michael Hay. Conversely Louisville is a good defensive team, so I'm predicting a low scoring affair. However, without their starting RB and QB, I don't see how the Cardinals can score enough to win this game.

Final

Syracuse - 20
Louisville - 10

Mr. T

Oh, hey kids, good to see you again. I was just spending some time on this here internet machine lookin' up some historical results for dis weekend's big game. You see, until dese here idiots started askin me fo predictions, Mr. T didn't know too much about Syracuse.

So I just found out last year Syracuse traveled to Louisville, took a late lead and they stumbled. Stumbled like fools and lost 10-9. The loss was like stumbling on a sidewalk in front of people. Clearly Syracuse needs to recoup.

On Saturday, Syracuse won't hide their head in the sand, they'll start recouping. Just like Mr. T taught them too.

Final

Syracuse - Recouped
Louisville - Pain
